Born in Istanbul in 1987, Azeri grew up in a household that blended influences from the Caucasus, Eastern Anatolia, and Istanbul. She earned her undergraduate degree in Archaeology and her graduate degree in Prehistoric Archaeology from Istanbul University. For nearly a decade, she worked as a scientific researcher across various projects and institutions. In 2018, she relocated to Berlin and began her PhD at the Free University of Berlin, studying how humans interacted with their environment in the Marmara Region around 6000 BC through the analysis of prehistoric bone tools. In 2023, she left her role as a research assistant at the German Archaeological Institute, Eurasia Department, and stepped away from academia entirely to pursue ceramics; exploring the intersections of material culture, craft, and artistic expression.
Now based in Berlin, she continues her ceramic practice. Alongside the development of her own artistic work, Azeri is a member of the FLUX Ceramic Collective.
